i need a lesson in silver bass fishing on the river. I would like to take my 11 year old nephew out on the river for silver bass ( i thought this would be a good way to get him used to the river)  but i don't know the routine. Can anyone give a quick tutorial on how to be sucessfull in the river?

any help would be appreciated

Jigs and twister tails, fish just like you would for walleyes in the same places.  Not much too it.  Last year I took my daughter and her friends out and fished the channel north of the Free Bridge from Bouy 13 on down.  Watch your depth finder, look for the schools, have fun.  Still early yet, give it a few more weeks when they are in really thick.

I was out on Sunday (I couldn't buy a walleye) and saw a pile of silver bass caught in the warm water discharge canal just South of the Edison plant. Most of the fish were caught between the docks on the North side of the canal. Good luck.....
