03-12-08  I drove bye the Lake Erie Metro Park Launch today and there were about 7 boat trailers in the parking lot.  Any fishing reports out there?  Any ice coming down the river?

Went down to Lake Erie Metro Park this morning.  All the ice that was the a few days ago is gone.  The small amount shelved up on the ramp was being plowed into the water by the park worker.  There were five boat trailers in the parking lot, so someones out!  Anyone from the club or uses the DWF Website please post a fishing report....Greg Warsow

I plan on going out tomorrow, weather and ice permitting.  I'll let you know.

Well I said I was going to go and check things out and I did.  Ramps at Erie are wide open.  About 10 trailers in the lot and I saw two boats fishing the Edison discharge area.  Lots of ice on the West side of Grosse Isle, a good east wind should get it out in the river and headed south.  I was going to head out this afternoon and give it a shot but with the snow on it's way I decided that discretion was the better part of valor.  After my incident with the rocks and my lower unit I told myself I wouldn't make anymore stupid decisions.

We'll see how long that lasts.

Well Greg you wanted to know what it is like out there.  Here is a picture from 3/24/08 from the starboard side (that's the right side) of my boat.
