Handlining it's a #7 Hot Steel Rap in the Spring and Summer, a #12 Blue and Silver Husky Jerk in the fall.

Jigging it's a purpleish/brown Wyandotte Wonder worm.

Open Water Trolling it's a Chartreuse/Purple Blade crawler harness with purple beads.

no votes for spoons?

i have never had much success with spoons myself, but i did just see a setup using a 3 way with a deep diver on bottom 3ft back and a spoon tied off the other ring about  6ft back. the diver still brings it to bottom but the spoon gives you an extra attraction. i am going to try running this in the deeper ohio and canadian waters this summer.

just food for thought

Steve,

I do farely well with spoons in combo with big jon mini discs and small in line boards on erie in the summer! It sure is a lot cleaner than crawlers, but man o man do those eyes love meat!

Steve,

Try washing your crawlers and keeping them in a tiny 6 pack cooler with water and ICE.  They will stay fat, sassy and plump all day
