| i have been using them for years. on my first trip to fish camp in canada in 1990 they kept a journal for all who had come up, it dated back to 1957. ever since then i have been keeping a journal. it's fun to look back and can be a great referance to compare weather and catches from year to year. plus it's something you can pass down to the kids

| i used to.. after filling a note book it got lost (boy was i @*&$%ed). now i just use my gps waypoints. for me, every year the hot lures/colors change but the areas stay more constant. that's why i just use the waypoints.

| I put all my info into an Excel Spreadsheet. I also do something a little more unconventional. I take digital pictures of the fish I catch and name the file with the place and date. I also put in the lures used whenever I can. A picture is worth a thousand words and it's fun to send to my friends who had all the excuses as to why they couldn't go out that night.

I also try to take digital pictures each time I go fishing. I save the pictures with the date and names of the people on board. If some one has a big fish the weight and length are recorded on a personal picture. I'm going to make a hook board for the catch instead of laying them out on a big board or the grass.
Logs/journals are nice but I have trouble writing and trying to drive the boat. Even if I have some type of form it's difficult to put all the info down. This year I'm going to try a small hand held tape recorder and coordinate the lure, feet back, etc with the way point when I get home....later...Greg Warsow
