I was wondering if someone can help me out with a question regarding fishing the american side of the Detroit River. Being from Canada do I need to obtain a non resident Michigan fishing lic?? this may sound like a corny question but when I was at the fishing show at the Rock financial place in Novi I talked to a american customs agent and they could not give me a straight answer! All they said was that I need the proper documentation with no details. So does that mean a passport? I-68? fishing Lic? because he didn't know. I have yet to contact the DNR but figured I would post here first.
Thank you for for time and I look forward to hearing as much feedback as possible!
Would hate to have to go to jail or lose all my gear and tons o fines for crossing the imaginary line down the channel!!
Thanks for the fast response. All those years of fishing everywhere on the river without even a thought of an american lic yikes!!!!! IMO they should sell a joint Lic. for all border cities being Detroit/Windsor or Port Huron/Sarnia etc...
