Open Water Trolling is my first
Handlining is my second

I can't just choose one method as my favorite. But we sure are lucky here. We can handline at night and during the day. Limit out in no time trolling in the open waters of Lake Erie and if its too rough out there, go hide in the river and jig. Yes, boys, we got it all!!! All except for those months of December, January and February.

Speak for yourself......last year I was fishing in December and January.
Worked the DWF booth at the Fishing Show in the morning then went out and caught walleyes in the afternoon.

Nothing like feeling that whamp! while vertical jigging That being said, handlining and open water trolling, which I am fairly new at, come in a close second and third.

Not sure if I had a passafire or a fish-n-pole, as a baby,so i'll go with pole. But the thread is ''to catch walleyes'' So ''net'' yes It's great to watch too.

| If my bud would learn how to work the bow-mount, I would place jiggin on top then trolling, handlining. Although I will be in my third year for handlining and it is growing on me very fast

| Nope. I caught this back in 1992. I was using just one salmon egg with a bobber by Charlevoix - Medussa Cement plant. This was my first and largest King I've ever landed. I had a much larger one on when I fished in Alaska - but I wasn't able to land it - Klitna River by the Copper River. This King weighed 33 lbs even.
