Fished the dumping grounds just outside Bolles Harbor on Friday morning. We kept 10 fish (most 3-4 lbs) and tossed back 4 more. Best program was 2oz bottom bouncers with perch/gold and pearl/purple Walleye Kid custom harnesses in 16-17 FOW. Speed was 1.1-1.5 with most of the fish coming at the higher end of the range with the bouncers running a little off the bottom. The best area was the far northwest corner of the dumping grounds (on the corner of the dump and off it to the north) Lots of sheep, but not too many silver bass. We did move out to the Ohio line later in the day but didn’t catch anything in the deeper water (20+ FOW).
I fished the same area on Sat but didn't use the same technique (wish I had) I was not using bottom bouncers, just draging spinners & also tried some cranks. I had a very bad results day Sat but still a good day on the water. Thanks for the report.
