Good friend of ours is starting out trolling for walleye.   He would like some suggestions on which rods to use.  Of course he is on a limited budget (who isn't these days?).  They are going to use them on the "big boards">

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Is he talking with in-line boards or big boards? In-line boards require a bit more backbone than with big boards. I use 7' MH Rhino rods for in-line boards(about $20 each) and 6 1/2' Daiwa med action with my big boards. Some guys will use 8' downrigger rods but I find that overkill! But everybody will have a different opinion. The main thing is that all rods are the same. Easier to read rod action then.
