| Is he talking with in-line boards or big boards? In-line boards require a bit more backbone than with big boards. I use 7' MH Rhino rods for in-line boards(about $20 each) and 6 1/2' Daiwa med action with my big boards. Some guys will use 8' downrigger rods but I find that overkill!
